Content indexing computer requirements

The computer that will run content indexing for the Meridian Explorer repository must meet the following minimum requirements:

• One of the following Microsoft operating systems:

• Windows Server 2003 R2 (with latest service pack and updates)
• Windows Server 2008 (with latest service pack and updates). Windows Server 2008 Core is not yet supported.
• Windows Vista or Windows 7 (for testing only, not for production)

• Microsoft Management Console (MMC) version 3.0

Note    The MMC is available for Windows Server 2003 from Microsoft Update.

• Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1
• Meridian Enterprise 2006 (or higher) client components
• IFilters for all file types containing text that you want to search

Note Explorer supports both 32-bit and 64-bit IFilters. Explorer Content Index jobs run as 32-bit processes when using 32-bit IFilters, even on 64-bit computers. In that case, BlueCielo Publisher will Start a separate 32-bit process for each document to be indexed. This is done to prevent errors that can occur from 32-bit IFilters in 64-bit mode.
